Great day yesterday, supporting students at Thurston Sixth Form in conjunction with Jacqui Phipps Josie Finch – carrying out mock interviews, and sharing ideas on how to make yourself stand out from the rest when it comes to looking for your first job.
I held a session where we discussed how you can utilise your network to find a role and proactive steps you can take, to get yourself in front of local businesses.
It was also great to see a number of students keen to start their own business and asking great questions, around how to get your new business idea out there in the market place.
Schools need more support from local businesses, in helping share experiences, advice and ideas, to help prepare students as they leave education and go into the workplace.
Highly recommend getting involved with the Councils scheme.
